We arrived in PC at 2:30 in the afternoon. After going through customs and baggage customs we were basically attacked by cab drivers! We had to take the cab across town to the bus station called Albrook. The cab ride was $53 plus tip to driver and baggage carriers. The bus station was a little scary. The baggage boy there was not friendly and was sort of demanding about receiving a $9 tip for carting our bags from the cab to the bus stop. Jason said $3 and we finally settled on $7 because I was nervous. The bus tickets to David (pronounced Dah-veed) were $61, we boarded the bus at 4:45 pm. In the meantime we were hot and so I went to DQ and got ice cream for everyone and bottled water. The cone for Jason was $1.20 the sundaes for the children were $1.70 a piece. Each bottled water was $0.80
The bus we loaded had a gentleman who helped load our bags, he wanted $3 to do so. We were on the top decker in the very front. Believe me you have never seen driving like this before in your life. CRAZY!!! We were a little worried if we would make it out of the city alive! We're still alive! The road has 3 lanes and at times there were 4 and 5 lanes of traffic going out of the city, everyone was honking their horns and people were running up and down the highway trying to sell things to people in their cars and the bus-driver looked like he was going to run-over everyone that was in front of him. We arrived in David around 1:30 in the am. The people were yelling TAXI! TAXI! We were so happy to hear someone say "Martin". It was our brother Lawson. He and brother Jay Beckner had come to take us to our home. They helped us with our bags then took us by "The Rey", David's only 24 hr supermarket so we could have a few groceries for the next day. We were so tired we just grabbed coffee, juice, toast, and a yogurt for myself. Let me tell you what you can buy anything here singly! There were open packages of butter allover the place because people just wanted one stick of butter! ( I was thinking "Father of the Bride" )We finally got to the house around three a.m. and cleaned a little then went to sleep. We had been up nearly 24 hours. (21.5 to be exact)
